Innovative AI-driven solution optimizes sugarcane harvesting for maximum yield and profitability

GAMAYA, a leader in agritech innovation for sugarcane and other tropical crops, is proud to announce the granting of a new patent for its sugar yield prediction and harvest coordination technology. This patented AI-powered solution provides unprecedented precision in forecasting sugarcane yield, sugar content, and optimal harvest timing, enabling farmers and sugar mills to maximize crop productivity,  profitability, and sustainability.

The technology leverages multispectral satellite data combined with advanced agronomic and weather modeling to deliver real-time insights and precise weekly predictions of sugar content and biomass, allowing for optimal harvesting decisions. Additionally, the solution offers a bespoke optimization tool that adjusts harvest schedules based on processing capacity, logistical constraints, and real-time field data.

GAMAYA’s proprietary Smart Harvesting Solution is the first AI-driven product to improve efficiency and profitability for sugar mills. Marketed as CanaSight, the tool helps mills increase sugar content output by up to 5% and cut costs, while also reducing emissions along the value chain. It is already being used by leading sugar mills worldwide, including ATVOS, Royal Eswatini Sugar, and U.S. Sugar Corporation.

“This patent is a key milestone in our mission to make agriculture both more sustainable and profitable, with a special focus on the untapped potential of tropical crops,” said Yury Vasilkov, CEO of GAMAYA. “Our AI-driven harvest optimization technology empowers the sugar industry to boost yields while using fewer resources, which is crucial as food systems face challenges like economic pressures and climate change. We’re excited to be at the forefront of this innovation and eager to collaborate with both existing and new partners and customers to unlock the full potential of our platform.”
